Who is a Remote Warrior?
A Remote Warrior is a veteran or service member who fought from behind a screen. They operated drones, analyzed live feeds, made split-second decisions in the kill chain, and supported combat operations from thousands of miles away. They may have:-Piloted or sensor-operated MQ-1, MQ-9, or similar RPAs/drones-Provided real-time ISR (intelligence, surveillance, reconnaissance)-Processed and relayed targeting data or conducted strike assessments-Witnessed trauma through a screen without the ability to act or process it-Returned home without ever deploying, but carrying invisible wounds-These warriors often hear, “You were never in danger.”
But trauma doesn’t care about geography. Moral injury and complex PTSD don’t require a combat badge. There are more than 250,000 (Active) Remote Combat Warriors in the U.S.
Most are still navigating these wounds in silence. We exist to change that.
